C-Questor Launches Leaseco2

ImageLeaseco2 Ltd is a developer of medium scale Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency and Water Saving projects. In conjunction with financial partners, projects are installed on customer premises and leased by the customer who benefits from a number of financial and environmental advantages as a result of the lease.

Leaseco2 projects are designed to generate net revenue for the customer from day one. Ofgem which regulates the UK gas and electricity markets forecasts energy price rises of between 14 and 25% above inflation by 2020. Avoidance of electricity and fuel purchase will therefore have increasing value over time as a result of price rises in the market place. In addition, the customer stands to gain significant deferred revenue after the initial lease is complete for the remaining life of the product.

Depending on the nature of the project, cost savings can be achieved from electricity and fuel savings, reduced maintenance, and reduced water bills for both supply and drainage. Certain projects such as anaerobic digesters also provide revenue in the form of gate fees for waste management, fertilizer, soil improver, sale of spare electricity, and from April 2010, from Government feed in tariffs. For this reason, Leaseco2 projects can and will be designed to be completely self funding with no net cost to the customer at any time.

ImageIn addition to earning the customer a modest net revenue during the lease period, the customer also benefits from significant reductions in CO2 emissions.

  • A few indicative examples of CO2 savings
  • A 100 kW photovoltaic array avoiding the emission of around 40-45 tons of CO2 per annum.
  • 1000 LED street lights saving around 13 tons of CO2.
  • A 25 kW wind turbine saving 24 tons of CO2.
  • A project which avoids the use of 10,000 litres of hot water a day which would otherwise be heated by a gas boiler saving 45 tons of CO2.
