Research and Development is a central platform of C-Questor’s work.  One of the company’s core competencies is its ability to generate new ideas and develop them into financially and environmentally viable projects. Our research will take two generic forms, the first being the development of science and technology relevant to the challenge of containing Global Warming, the second being an on going effort to keep abreast of existing technology, market mechanisms, legal and insurance considerations, treaties and agreements, political developments, and other factors having a bearing on the efforts of C-Questor and its partners. C-Questor seeks to manage its pipeline of Intellectual Property assets in such a way as to ensure that we have a steady stream of relevant and innovative products and services coming to the marketplace. These developments help to ensure that C-Questor is at the forefront of developing novel technologies and mechanisms for combating global warming and other environmental threats.

In order to create a robust intellectual portfolio (‘IP’) C-Questor has filed and acquired an extensive list of patents which is strengthened wherever appropriate by further patent applications and by the licensing-in of supporting know-how. As a final layer of protection for the C-Questor portfolio of intellectual property, we have registered the C-Questor brand name along with a comprehensive range of trade mark registrations.

C-Questor in addition to its own technology has a wide range of strategic alliances and joint ventures with collaborative partners. Our understanding is that by working together, we will accelerate development and more importantly, implement novel carbon sequestration methods and products. Alongside our own Research and Development facilities we seek partnerships with universities and research and development agencies that are at the forefront of their field.  One of our leading partners in the forestry sector is Forest Research, the research agency of the UK Forestry Commission.  Forest Research is the principal UK organisation engaged in forestry and tree related research, and through our relationship with them, we have access to a number of innovative methods for mass propagation and distribution of trees for forestry projects. As the business develops, a good deal of field research will be carried out in our forestry projects, as such research is essential to validating projects for Carbon and Bio-diversity credit creation.

Together with our partners, we share a common commitment to research and to bringing to market new technologies which reduce the amount of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. We will further develop low carbon renewable energy sources. We will carry out development work on the micro-propagation of trees as an aid to reforestation and Terra-Reforming™, and we will work to enhance plant growth in arid or saline conditions.  By developing commercial products and by-products from suitable trees and plants (including Carbon and Bio-diversity credits) we will ensure that land is put to productive use, and that everyone gets the opportunity to earn a living. It is through partnerships between the private and public sectors, such as between C-Questor and Forest Research, that we can work towards a positive future, and realise the huge commercial opportunities that result from avoiding the worst impacts of climate change.

To summarise, as with any leading company, C-Questor undertakes applied research in order to meet the strategic objectives of the company. In C-Questor’s case this research may be in any area related to limiting Global warming and where applicable protecting bio-diversity, cleaning up pollution, or offering possibilities for enhanced security of supply of food and clean water using technologies associated with our primary purpose. Our research, while primarily technical and scientific, does not ignore the need to keep informed of other relevant considerations – political, legal, economic, market etc. In addition, wherever possible, the company sponsors research programmes and joint collaborative work across all its inter-related sectors with major universities and other research centres of excellence. These research programmes benefit from the advice of C-Questor’s Scientific Advisory Board which is made of leading academic figures from universities around the world.
